During our follow up visits, we are glad to discover that our mentees have continued to record amazing successes in their business, and are still practicing the principles taught during the program.

This year also, we have one of the oldest mentees the program has ever had. His name is Samuel, he is a 63 year old shoe maker who has been in the business for 14 years.

One way we can end generational poverty in Nigeria is if people are able to work without the interruption of bribes, favouritism, and threats of community-wide safety.

The idea of the human knot game is to have people tied by their hands in a way that it looks like an actual knot which they must untangle through communication and collaboration.

This year, we are training NGO Leaders on Core Values, Overcoming Obstacles, Mission Creep, and Knowing how to get Funding for their NGOs.

Our mentees comprise of business owners ranging from fashion designers, a farmer, a book store owner, food sellers, skin care products sellers, a hair dresser, a photographer, a plumber, bakers, cobbler, and a laundry person. It is a special blend of a variety of businesses.

The solution to generational poverty in the country is directly linked to empowering leaders of integrity and creating long-term sustainable jobs for all.

Team Leaders do not give answers to mentee’s problems. Instead, they coach them towards figuring out the answers themselves.

By the end of the two hour training, NGO leaders will know how to better clarify their organizational priorities, communicate those priorities to stakeholders and align their activities within their values.

After concluding our 2022 mentorship program, every mentee who completed all the requirement for grant eligibility has received their award.

We are excited because we were able to start and finish our first mentorship program where we empowered 19 people with business skills, leadership training and business mentorship.

Our passion is to build lasting relationships with our mentors, mentees and other partners.

The 2022 mentorship session concluded in November and we have now finished interviewing candidates for next year’s session.

We are happy to meet other mission-driven NGOs doing similar work. Many are working to empower youth in Nigeria through reorientation and organising programs that will teach them skills and create employment.
