Mentorship Program.

In 2025, The Leader Team has a goal to empower and equip 10-15 additional business owners to grow their small businesses in order to break the cycle of poverty in Nigeria.

Mentees will be selected based their unique business skill set, personal need, passion, integrity, potential and vision. Everything else can be taught!

During the 7 month program, participants will meet in-person twice a month in Abuja (Wuse II) for exclusive trainings with local and international business mentors. Each person will be required to complete practical business assignments, finish group projects, and be held accountable by our TLT Coaches regularly.

At the end of the program, graduates will have opportunities for start-up business funding. The Leader Team Mentorship Program offers world-class leadership and business training free to selected individuals.

FAQ:

Do you have any tips for filling out the application?

Yes! Tip #1, there are many applicants so put some effort into the application. Do not give us one word answers. Remember, this is the first and only introduction we have for you. The less you tell us about your self, the less we know if you are a good fit. Tip #2, read the questions carefully and answer everything. If you do not read carefully and you do not actually answer the question you will not move forward to the next step. Tip #3, when you provide a WhatsApp number and email address, make sure to consistently check both during the application timeline. If you do not respond to us, you will not go through to the next step.

Can I still apply if I cannot attend all the meetings? Each class session is mandatory for mentees. If you are unable to attend 100% the sessions you will be dismissed from the program. We encourage you to apply another year.

How do you determine who is accepted into the program? Acceptance is based upon a combination of your level of need, with your passion, your vision, your skill set and your potential to grow.

Do I need to be a graduate to apply? No. Everyone is welcome.

Do I need to have a business already to apply? Yes, you need to have a demonstrated skill set that has been turned into a business. We cannot teach you your skill set. You will need to come with a product/service you provide prior to joining the program. You can apply whether you have a business that is registered or not.

Are the meetings in-person or virtual? The weekly meetings are in-person in Wuse II. However, Entrepreneurs will also be required to meet with their Team Lead and their groups which can be virtual or in-person.

Why does the application ask about my income? Because The Leader Team is a not-for-profit entity, we have certain requirements we must follow when it comes to who we provide free services to. Listing your income allows us to stay on mission and support those our program can serve the best.

Do I have to know someone in the program to get accepted?

No, it is actually the opposite. We ask, “How did you find out about the program?” because we want to understand if/how to market the program in the future. It also helps us to make sure we are selecting a diverse group of people into the program and not just all one person’s family and friends.

Who do I contact if I have questions about this program? You can email us at admin@theleaderteam.org and we would be happy to answer any of your questions!

How can I get updates from you?

Follow us on Instagram (@theleaderteamafrica) to keep up to date on the next application period. We do not accept applications outside of the application period. You can also follow us on LinkedIn.
