2024 Mentorship Begins!!!

Meeting new mentees is always an exciting experience for us!! Every year, we have the privilege of  mentoring entrepreneurs, building new lasting relationships, and providing asset grants for their businesses to get to the next level.

This year, like other years, we have a variety of business leaders ranging from shoe makers, fashion designers, dry cleaners, food processors, hairdressers and even a travel agent.

2024 Mentees and The Leader Team Staff

In Nigeria, every elder is an Auntie or Uncle. This year, we are excited to welcome our Uncle, Samuel. Samuel is a 63 year old shoe maker who has been in the business for 14 years. He started as a shoe shiner, before teaching himself to make shoes. Later he enrolled in a leather institute where he honed his skill of shoe making even more. Despite having just a secondary school education, Samuel makes some of the best shoes. His passion has created many jobs and continues to empower many.

Some of our mentees this year are already creating jobs for other people through the staff and apprentices they pay I their businesses. With unemployment on the rise and about 104 million Nigerians living in poverty (according to World Bank,  in 2023, Nigeria had a record of 104 million poor people due to sluggish growth and rising inflation), it is great to mentor small business owners who are making an impact by creating jobs for others.

Our work at The Leader Team enables us to train business leaders on skills such as Growth Strategy, Financial Management, Overcoming Obstacles, Operational Systems, and more. They also learn principles of integrity which will not only help them succeed in business, but also add to the growth and development of the country.
