Blessing Shemiye Bala.

Blessing Shemiye Bala is a trained journalist who has worked as a freelancer for some news stations in Nigeria. She received her undergraduate degree in Mass Communication from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna state Nigeria.

Upon graduating, Blessing interned for one of Nigeria's biggest TV stations - Arise News, where she worked as a reporter, covering events and special reports. Through her work, she learned both work and life skills developed her strengths as a multi-skilled journalist who loves to tell stories. One of Blessing’s favourite projects was reporting on Period Poverty in Nigeria. Blessing is an aspiring writer and has a gift for video editing and TV script writing.

Coming from a poor community, she was able to grow herself by striving in education and excelling in her community leadership. She is giving back to her community by using her unique story to  encourage and mentor young girls to develop their mindset for success, become aware of the opportunities accessible to them, and believe there is no limit to what they can achieve and become in life.

Blessing is married to David Narai and both have a beautiful baby girl. They are building their home to be a good example to other young couples. She believes strongly in God and holds values such as honesty, integrity, hard-work and respect. Blessing loves being in nature, star gazing, supporting her friends’ dreams and eating beans and rice!
